Imbaseni Trust

Aims

Aims Welcome to The Imbaseni Trust
The Imbaseni Trust is a registered charity which exists to:
  • Help young Tanzanian men and women to gain the necessary skills to gain employment
  • Support the work of the Scripture Union Centres at Imbaseni and Iyela
  • Help to provide training opportunities and capacity building for local staff
  • Work towards making the Centres in northern Tanzania self-sufficient
It is built on over 13 years of meaningful partnership and operates by:
  • regular communication with local personnel
  • sourcing appropriate tools, machinery and other equipment in the UK
  • sending out consignments of goods to Tanzania
  • helping local income generation projects
It arose out of the establishment of the Imbaseni Rural Development Project in the Kilimanjaro region, the vision of local members of Scripture Union of Tanzania. Started in 1985, the centre consists of a Vocational Training Centre (VTC), Conference Centre, Dispensary and Vehicle Workshops.

Plans are being made for the establishing of computer courses for girls from later this year. We welcome David & Pippa Ruddock from the UK who are setting up the course.
